The leaked red-band trailer of David Fincher’s “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”–Still Online?

Above is the leaked red-band trailer for the American adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s novel “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”. Apparently someone was able to catch a glimpse of the trailer pre-release (possibly somebody on the crew?). It’s been online at least since Saturday, and strangely it has yet to be taken down. That seems rather odd, considering the director of this remake (David Fincher) has been known to be very precise on how and when he wants promotional material for his films released. And seeing this as being a rather crude copy of the true trailer, why it hasn’t been removed yet is very peculiar. Perhaps it gives the film a more rebellious vibe? Perhaps the trailer was planned to be released this way in order to generate more hype? Wouldn’t be the first time the studios have tried a different sort of marketing strategy.

So what do you think? Does it look like a worthy remake, or is it just Hollywood cashing in on redos of foreign films once more?
